In an environment increasingly shaped by aviation cargo security requirements, KKJACT leveraging its strategic location adjacent to the joint cargo sheds and airline cargo terminals, functioning as a complementary facility responsible for pre-inspection staging, post-inspection handling, and cargo flow management. With the runway extension to 3,000m planned for August 2027, KKJACT aims to develop as a vital node in the air logistics network connecting Western Japan and East Asia.

Operations Without Time Constraints
Kitakyushu Airport is the only 24-hour operational airport in Kyushu.
Night-time deliveries, early-morning dispatches, and urgent cargo handling are all supported — enabling flexible logistics operations largely unconstrained by time-of-day restrictions.
The facility is equipped to meet the transportation needs of high-value cargo including semiconductor components, precision instruments, and medical-related products.

The airline cargo terminal, Joint Cargo Shed No.1, Joint Cargo Shed No.2, and KKJACT are all located within the restricted zone, forming an efficient and continuous logistics corridor.
Cargo intake, sorting, labelling, pre- and post-inspection staging, and cargo handling can all be carried out smoothly, supporting the rapid processing requirements unique to air cargo.
As a restricted-zone facility, KKJACT operates under strict security standards and maintains full alignment with aviation cargo security regulations.

Coordination with Aviation Cargo Security Regulations
The Kitakyushu Airport cargo area is equipped with a shared large-scale X-ray inspection system, and an operational framework for aviation cargo security compliance has been established.
While KKJACT does not conduct security screening itself, it leverages its proximity to the joint cargo sheds to function as a complementary facility, supporting:

Future Expansion
Toward a 3,000m Runway in August 2027
The runway extension project to 3,000 metres is steadily progressing toward its scheduled commissioning in August 2027.
Upon completion, Kitakyushu Airport will enhance its capability to accommodate larger freighter aircraft and support long-haul international cargo operations.
KKJACT has been developed as a logistics hub designed to support this new air cargo environment and the future growth of air cargo demand.
KKJACT aims not only to meet today’s logistics needs, but also to grow as an air cargo logistics hub alongside the future development of Kitakyushu Airport.

All-Weather Cargo Dock
A covered cargo handling area capable of accommodating 10-ton wing-body trucks with doors fully open. Stable cargo operations are supported regardless of weather conditions.

Temperature - Controlled Storage
Units can be converted to temperature-controlled or refrigerated warehouse specifications through tenant fit-out works. For pharmaceuticals, fresh produce, and food products, individual consultation is required to confirm the necessary equipment and operational conditions.
